Obituary

Carolee Winslow, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Winslow for over 55 years, passed away at age 78, on the 2nd of April 2024, at home in Oxnard, CA after a three year battle with appendix cancer. She was born in Plymouth, PA to parents Robert and Elizabeth (Finnegan) Hutcheson, on November 30, 1945. Carolee grew up in Endicott, NY attended Endicott-Johnson High School and Broome Community College in Binghamton, NY, graduated with an associate degree in Business Administration, and was employed by IBM in Owego, NY where she met her future husband, Bob. They were married in June 1968, started their family in Endicott, NY, and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish. The family moved to Huntington Beach, CA in 1979 and became members of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Parish. All three children graduated Mater Dei High School. In 1996, Carolee and Bob took up residence in Oxnard, CA and became members of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.
Carolee was an avid health enthusiast and completed the 60-mile Avon walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, her first year out of cancer treatment. Carolee excelled in encouraging and leading others by being a part of the Beach Cities Neighbors and Newcomers woman’s club since the beginning in 2006 where she hosted and taught jewelry, card making, and technology classes. She took on Board roles of Historian for many years and President in 2019. Other hobbies included biking, hiking, walking, gardening, being current on all the latest paper crafting tools, and making many people feel special with her homemade cards.
Carolee is survived by her husband Bob, sons Robert and Kyle (wife Jenine), daughter Christi, brother Robert Hutcheson (wife Marlene), and two grandchildren, Alexander and Sierra. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Elizabeth Hutcheson.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA 93003, on the First of June at 10 AM.
