Ralph E. Walker, age 86, of Medford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, May 22nd, at Tufts Medical Center of Boston. A lifelong Medford resident, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Sarah Elizabeth (Nolan) Walker. Ralph proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. After returning home he was employed by the Medford Department of Public Works, a job he loved for 50 years, eventually retiring as a Dispatcher. Ralph enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid player as well. “Ralphie” could often be found with the neighborhood kids playing a game of ball, teaching them to ice skate and ride bikes, or piling them in the car to go for ice cream.

Ralph was the loving husband of 60 years to Marcia (Gillespie) Walker and the devoted father of Marjorie Daly and her husband Brian of Wilmington. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael and Brendan Daly, and was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters. Ralph is survived by special nieces Gina and Carla, and many more loving family and friends.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, May 31st at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 30th, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
