Peter E. “Mike” Gibbons, 80, 55-year resident of Holbrook, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023. Born July 2, 1942, Mike is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Ruth (Whalen) Gibbons, sisters Dorothy Placente and Teresa Hall, grandson Peter Gibbons, and brother-in-law Robert Spera.
The third of five generations of sprinkler fitters, Mike was a proud member of UA Local 550 – of which his grandfather was a founding member – for 61 years. An avid sportsman, Mike enjoyed traveling to Pittsburgh, New Hampshire, with his sons to spend time outdoors. In later years, Mike enjoyed spending time with his wife, Sharon, attending yard sales, collecting antiques, and watching movies on Turner Classic Movie channel.
Mike is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon (Green) Gibbons, sons Peter and his wife, Joanne, of Plymouth, Joseph and his wife, Lynette, of Wilmington, Shawn and his wife, Tara, of Avon, sister Elaine Spera, brother Daniel and his wife, Alice, Gibbons, sister Nancy Gibbons, brothers-in-law Joe Placente and David Hall, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes, there will be a private service for immediate family members only.
