Obituary

Ann (Lai) Lin, age 88 of Brockton, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Ann was the loving wife for 69 years of Billy Lin. She was born, raised, and educated in Guangdong, China, the daughter of the late Nam (Thi) and Zhu Guang Lai. On July 29, 1979, she and her husband achieved their dream of bringing their entire family to the United States.

Ann was the proud mother of 10 daughters and 3 sons. Spending time with her family, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was most important to her. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass faithfully every week. Ann was steadfast in teaching the importance of prayer to all her children, leading the daily rosary prayer each evening after dinner. Ann also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and providing for her children through the fruits of her labor. In her downtime, she very much enjoyed watching Chinese drama and variety shows, as well as occasional competitive card games.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 13 children: Nancy Lin (Peter) Chan of Brockton, MA, Joann Lin (Michael) Wong of Tewksbury, MA, Maria Lin (Thaddeus) Chen of Poughkeepsie, NY, Julie Lin of Brockton, MA, Jennifer Lin of Boston, MA, Annie Lin of Boston, MA, Holly Lin of Boston, MA, Wendy Lin of Boston, MA, Jodi Lin of Miami, FL, Nathan (Sarah) Lin of Brockton, MA, Dmitry Lin of Miami, FL, Joseph (Laurie) Lin of Savage, MN, and Mimi (Lundy Ben) Lin of Brighton, CO. She was the grandmother of Cindy Chen, Julie Hayden, Jaine Tong, Cindy Chan, Stephanie Piliouras, Jason Chen, Christina Wayne, Joshua Thai, Kevin Wong, Kevin Chen, Brian Wong, Steven Chan, Taylor Thai, Logan Lin, Luelle Lin, Marcus Lin, Georgia Lin, Alexander Lin, Aiden Ben, Emma Ben and Brady Lin, and great-grandmother of Emilia Hayden, Rowan Hayden, Zelda Wayne, Ava Tong and Areesa Chen. She is also survived by her sister Le Vinh Chau in Vietnam and extended family globally.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Sunday, April 30, from 1-3pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday, May 1 at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main St, Brockton at 10:30am. Burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
