4/9/2023

Leonard "Lenny" Silvestri, age 57, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Lenny was a great father, beloved son, loving brother, and loyal friend, whose enthusiasm for life was matched only by his brave and generous spirit. His radiant smile and magnetic charm will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to cross his path.

Lenny was born on June 2, 1965, in Medford, MA, and spent his younger years in Waltham, MA. He was a gifted athlete who excelled in soccer, football and hockey during his four years at Medford High School. He continued his education at UMass Boston, where he earned his bachelor's degree.

In 1987, he moved to Florida and joined the City of Deerfield Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic, where he earned numerous awards for his outstanding service. A few years later, he followed in his father's footsteps and operated a major finance company. Later on, Lenny opened his own mortgage company, Alternative Mortgage Group, which he successfully managed for many years.

Lenny’s dedication as a father to his three children, Nicholas, Francesca, and Jake, and his profound love for his mother was a true testament to his character. He found great joy coaching his children’s sports teams and watching Jake’s performances in the school band.

Lenny is survived by his mother, Rosalie Sullivan and her husband Leo, his sister, Maria Pasciuto and her husband Frank and their 2 children, Anthony and Nico, his sister Deanna Amato, and her 2 children Kyle and Tyler. Lenny is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and his dad’s wife, Starr Silvestri. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Silvestri Sr.

Lenny had a passion for hockey that began at the age of five and continued to play up until his passing. Lenny also loved to golf, go to the gym, fish, and attend concerts. He cherished his family and friends and was always there for them. Lenny's generosity, courage, and fun-loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Though he has passed on, Lenny's spirit will always live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him.
