Arthur H. Pelland, age 88 of Brockton, died peacefully at his home on April 12, 2023. Arthur was the husband of the late Sandra (Hailey) Pelland. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Elmore and Helen (Ekstrand) Pelland. Arthur was a 1954 graduate of Brockton High School and enlisted in the army, serving in Germany and France during the Korean era.
For 20 years he worked at General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy, and retired in 2008 from Bridgewater State College after 13 years.
Arthur was the most honest, loving, sweet and funny man who enjoyed time with family, friends and his animals. He also enjoyed coin collecting and chatting with friends at Club National.
Arthur was the father of H. Edward Pelland, Suzanne Sullivan and her husband Paul, Joseph Pelland and his wife Corrine and Alison Pelland and her partner Steve Hrasok all of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Derreck, Darren, Connor Pelland, PJ, Kyle Sullivan, Nathan, Leo, Luna Pelland and the late Stephen Pelland. He was the brother of Edward, Clyde, Gene, Helen Patsy Pelland and Rita Hobart. He is also survived by his best friend of 60 years, Russell Wertz and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday, April 21 from 4-8pm. Donations in Arthur’s name may be made to a veterans organization or animal shelter of your choice. excluding PETA.
