Beatrice Susan Monestime, known to family and friends as Béa, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, after a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer. Beatrice has joined the company of her late parents, Marc Sauveur Monestime and Bertha Péralte Monestime at their forever home. In June 1967, Beatrice was one of 14 siblings their mother Bertha extracted from the grasp of eradication by a vicious dictator. Beatrice grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, attended private elementary and high schools in Boston, and Community College in Waltham, Massachusetts. After College, Beatrice met and married her former husband, Leslie Davis and raised three lovely children while working for the United States Air Force in Texas, New Hampshire and in Massachusetts. Beatrice is survived by her beloved
children, Reginald, Marlon of Leominster, Massachusetts and Adrianne Davis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by four sisters: Alourdes Monestime of Virginia, Rose and husband Gladstone Weekes, Marthe Monestime, and Marie Yacinthe Nowicki, all of Massachusetts. Ten brothers: Guy Monestime and wife Theresa McPherson, René and wife Joanne Monestime, Roland Monestime, and Max and wife Anne Monestime, all of California, Robert and wife Betty Monestime, and Marcel Monestime, of Arizona. Father Pérard Monestime, SJ, of Georgia, Frantz and wife Danielle Monestime, Hugues and wife Ulla Monestime, and Alix Monestime, of Massachusetts. Beatrice is also survived by 41 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 10 am-12 pm at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
