Donna Marathas, 68 of Falmouth, Massachusetts passed away peacefully February 9, 2023. Donna was the daughter of the late Bess Marathas of Canton and Nicholas J. Marathas and his wife Claire, formerly of Canton.
Donna graduated Canton High School in 1972 and attended Cape Cod Community College where she fell in love with the Cape and eventually moved there. Donna was an absolutely amazing daughter, sister, friend and Nuna (Greek for Auntie). She enjoyed her nieces and nephews, always welcoming all to her home. She loved her Seacoast Shores family and always looked out for them. Donna gave so much more than she took and always helped the less fortunate. After over 20 years working beside her Dad at Nick’s Place in Canton she became a permanent resident of Falmouth and had her own business. Donna loved to read and watch mysteries, enjoyed all things in nature, had a fairy garden for when her nieces and nephews visited, enjoyed spending time watching tv , eating pizza and taking rides with her favorite guy, Barry. Donna is survived by her sisters Andrea Sanford and husband Robert of Ludlow, Vermont , Stephanie Valanzola and husband Edward of Mansfield, Mass , Karen Cochrane and husband Robert of Wolfboro, NH , and her brothers Nicholas J. Marathas Jr. of Falmouth and James Marathas and wife Rebecca of Marshfield and her significant other for the past two years, Barry Ronayne. Service will be private.
