Amelia I. (Buoncuore) Marotta, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, January 17th. She was 99. Born in Somerville, she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Anna (Palumbaro) Buoncuore.

Amelia was a loving and caring woman with a heart of gold. She would help anyone in need; there was no one she would turn away. A natural people person, Amelia always found the good in everyone. Amelia’s biggest passion was being a mother, Nana and Great-Nana, sister and friend; she will be missed by all.

Amelia was the beloved wife of the late John Marotta, and the devoted mother of Lynda Trotta. She was the loving Nana of Danielle McGrath and her husband Dan, and Rick Trotta and his wife Cassandra. Amelia was the loving Great-Nana of Taylor, Makenna and Benjamin; and the dear sister of Josephine, Roland, David and the late Mario and Jr. Buoncuore.
