Sandra J. Morse (Searl-Spratt) formerly of Weymouth passed away January 13th. Born and raised in Boston, she attended Boston Schools and worked for many years as a Clerk for a Laundry mat in Weymouth and later worked for South Shore Coastal Skill center before retiring. She lived in Dedham for several years where she volunteered for the Dedham Food Pantry and the Dedham Meals on Wheels.
She was a kind, loving, brilliant, and tenacious woman. She overcame immense hardships at a young age to build a life with her beloved husband, Donald, who pre-deceased her in 2006. Despite trials and tribulations at a very young age, she attended Boston Latin on a full scholarship, and she met her husband, Donald, after they both grew up in orphanages. She was the beloved mother of Donald Jr., Dianna Corey, David Morse, and Christopher Morse. Sadly, her son, Christopher, also pre-deceased her in 2003. She was a wonderful grandmother who was always up-to-date on the latest fashion when we were children, who watched (or recorded) her favorite soap operas, she loved her cats (never forget Sunshine, that cat certainly loved us kids), and she loved to travel with Donald, then regale us with tales of the places she went, and the sites she'd seen. She spoke lovingly and fondly of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments. May she rest peacefully with Donald and Christopher. Our hearts are saddened by her loss, but thankful for her life and the love she readily gave Beloved wife of the late Donald R. Morse Sr. Mother of Donald R. Morse Jr. of Foxboro, Diana Corey and her husband Calvin of Randolph, David Morse and his wife Patricia of Norwood, and the late Christopher Morse. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday morning at 11:00 am. Visiting hour prior to the service Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at the Fairmont Cemetery, Weymouth. | |||||
