Kruy, Joseph Francis age 91 of Boca Raton, FL formerly of Weston, MA passed peacefully on January 1st. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte Kruy with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Cherished father of Adrienne Rozelle and her husband Bruce of Sudbury, MA and Dr. Peter Kruy and his wife Patrice of Sudbury, MA. Loving grandfather of Craig Rozelle and his wife Ashley; Alexa Jakobowski and her husband John; and Joseph and Victoria Kruy.
Joseph was born in Hungary in 1931 and earned his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Budapest. Along with his wife Charlotte, he came to the United States after the Soviet troops crushed the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. After working at Honeywell Information Systems for 10 years in various engineering and research management positions, Joseph founded Cambex Corporation in 1968. At Cambex, he held the position of Chairmen, CEO, and President for more than 40 years. Joseph Kruy is known as the "Father of the Memory Systems Business" because his company was the first to sell a complete memory system on a printed circuit card. Through the years Cambex achieved great success. In Forbes Magazine's annual rankings of "America's 200 Best Small Companies", Cambex was ranked numer one for two years in a row in the early 1990s. At the same time it achieved the number one ranking in the Boston Globe's annual GLOBE 100 list.
Joseph was a 50 year resident of Weston, MA and enjoyed spending winters in Boca Raton, FL where he retired after working well into his late 70s. He was an avid tennis player, skier, and golfer which he took up in his later years. Joseph and his wife Charlotte were members of the Weston Golf Club, Wightman Tennis Center and the Boca Raton Resort and Club. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Mass General Cardiology.
