Obituary

Debra Bartlett-Willcox passed away on December 13, 2022. She was 65 years old.

A longtime resident of Malden, Debra had worked for the Commonwealth of Mass Department of Education. She was the former wife of William “Billy” Wilcox and daughter of Patricia (Jenkins) Bartlett and the late Sidney R. Bartlett. Debra was the loving mother of Kelsey A. Walsh and her husband Brendan of Malden and Keegan J. Willcox and his wife Yimo Zhov of Malden. She was the dear sister of Kevin, Ann and John Bartlett, all of Hertfordshire, UK and Lee Bartlett of Essex, UK and Stephen Bartlett of CA. Debra also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Debra was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend throughout her life. She will be remembered amongst those who loved her as someone who never failed to put a smile on your face. Her sense of humor as well as her kind and loving nature made her somebody that people gravitated towards when they needed a friend or a laugh. In her younger years, she was known for her fun-loving and adventurous nature which led her to travel the world before settling down in Malden to raise a family. Debra was a lover of all things music and art who could often be found singing along to Elvis as she worked on her latest artistic endeavor.

Debra was a caring and dedicated mother who loved and supported her children throughout her life. She will be remembered for the passion, love, and support she showed her children.

Although she struggled with Parkinson's disease, Debra never let it define her or change her as a person. Through her pain and struggle, Debra demonstrated the same grace, love, and humor that she had always been known for.

To those who knew her, Debra will be remembered as one of the kindest, funniest, and warm-hearted people you could ever hope to know. She will be dearly missed but not forgotten. As her family and friends attempt to persevere through these trying times, they can look to Debra as a model of strength, resilience, and love.
