Patricia Zoe MacLeod (Pat) Minick, age 98 passed away on November 15, 2022, in Ventura, California. Pat was born in Denver Colorado, September 12, 1924 the daughter of Grant W. and Bessie S. MacLeod.
She attended Sheridan High School and graduated in 1942. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Wyoming and worked as a dietician at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. After the war, she married her hometown sweetheart, Hubert O. Minick on June 18, 1946. She gave up her career to be a stay-at-home mom but in later years returned to work as registered dietician consultant for convalescent homes.
Pat had a natural gift for music which she shared with many different musical groups throughout her long life. She served as the church organist and pianist for Canoga Park Presbyterian Church (now River of the Valley Church) where she was a member for more than 50 years. She loved singing in the church choir and participating in a 40's combo that played for senior groups.
She was personable and fun loving and always enjoyed get-togethers with friends or family. In later life she scheduled lunch plans with different friends almost every day of the week. She was an excellent bridge player and even competed in Duplicate Bridge Tournaments for many years. A life-long student of the Bible, Pat was proud to be a part of a team teaching the Bethel Bible series to members of her church. She was an active member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) until 2020.
She formed very close friendships with a group of lovely women while living in an independent apartment at the Ventura Townehouse for five years. Later, living with her daughter Marilyn and son-in- law, Paul was a great comfort to Pat and allowed her to experience special love and care during her last years. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and caretakers.
Pat is survived by her three children, (daughter) Jeanne Kauffman (husband) John, of Radnor, PA, (daughter) Marilyn Angelo (husband) Paul of Ventura, CA, (son) Bill Minick (wife) Kim of Sheridan, WY, (grandchildren), Sarah Hein (Brad), Joe Kauffman (Nellie), Katie Kurnas (Andrew), Lynnea Glasser (Russell), Phillip Angelo, Daniel Minick, Ben Minick, Josh Minick and (great grandchildren), Alex Hein, Max Hein, Lena Hein, Violet Kurnas, Matilda Kurnas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert O. Minick, parents Grant & Bessie MacLeod, and her sister Esther Griffin.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli St. Ventura CA on January 21, 2023 at 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Assisted Hospice (Ventura), the Braille Institute of America, River of the Valley Church, Canoga Park CA. or Community Presbyterian Church, Ventura, CA.
