Linda M. (Joyce) Maloney, age 63, long-time resident of Mansfield and formerly of Dorchester, most recently of East Falmouth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Francis X. “Frank” Maloney, Jr, to whom she was wed for thirty-nine years.

Born in Boston, MA on August 28, 1959, she was a loving daughter of the late Thomas J. and Julia A. (O’Connor) Joyce.

Linda grew up as part of a tight-knit Irish family in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. She was a 1977 graduate of Saint Gregory’s High School and continued her education at Boston State College, graduating in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Linda’s family, whom she loved dearly, always came first. She was especially proud of raising her three sons and was always there to support them during their activities while growing up and into their adulthood. In recent years, she started a new chapter in her life as a grandmother which gave her great pride and brought immense joy and love to her life.

For many years, Linda had worked as a Sales Associate at Kohl’s in Mansfield and had formerly taught fifth graders at Saint Ann’s School in Dorchester. She was an active communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, most recently serving as a Eucharistic Minister. The past several months were exciting ones as she and Frank set off on a new journey as residents of East Falmouth.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted sons: Brian F. Maloney and his wife Michelle of Foxborough, Paul T. Maloney and his wife Lauren of Norwell, and Patrick J. Maloney of Memphis, TN. She was the cherished and adoring grandmother of Charlotte and Madison Maloney. She was the dear sister of Thomas J. Joyce and his wife Janice of Fuquay-Varina, NC, John F. Joyce and his wife Theresa of New London, NH, Donna M. Muldoon and her husband Stephen of Weymouth and the late Judith A. Wyman, who is survived by her husband Stephen Wyman of Mansfield. She was the much-loved sister-in-law of Michael W. Maloney and his wife Cathie of Quincy, Mary E. Farley and her husband Tom of Brockton, James E. Maloney and his wife Michelle of Braintree, Thomas J. Maloney and his wife Pam of Bridgewater and Michelle A. Perry and her husband Mark of Bridgewater. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 8th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
