Dolores “Dolly” (Mercurio) Gordon passed away on November 17, 2022. She was 88 years old.
Dolly grew up in Malden and lived in Melrose, Medford and Malden. She was a jewelry buyer for El-Jay’s Catalog Showroom for many years. There was nothing in the world she loved more than her family. It was as if she were put on this earth to be a mother and grandmother - always putting the needs of others before her own. Her door and heart were open to all - making her immediate and chosen family extensive. Dolly was truly one of a kind and the impact she had on those she loved most will withstand the test of time.
Dolly was married to the late Leonard “Lenny” Gordon. She was the loving mother of Scott A. Gordon and his wife Leah of Uxbridge and Neil B. Gordon and his wife Ruthie (Mulligan) Gordon of Reading. Dolly was the dear sister of Theresa Kloppenburg and her husband Frank, Arthur Mercurio and his partner John Carmilia, and the late Alexander, George, Edgar and Ronald Mercurio. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew Gordon and his wife Kelly, and Stephen, Elizabeth, Seth and Ally Gordon. Dolly was also blessed with one great-grandchild, James Gordon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover on Monday, November 21st at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the church on Sunday, November 20th from 2-6pm. Interment will be in Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Arrangements from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, Malden.
