FALL RIVER… Carlton P. Gillette, 68, of Fall River passed away September 27, 2022, at St. Anne’s Hospital.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Roy and Lorraine (Sicard) Gillette. He had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mr. Gillette was a communicant of the former Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church. He worked for many years in maintenance at the Newport Naval Base.
Carl was kind-hearted and quick-witted. He loved a good laugh and could find humor in anything. He was an avid guitar player and music lover. He went on to teach his sons how to play guitar and keyboard, a gift they will always remember. He loved trips to the casino and reading a good book. Above all else, Carl loved spending time with his family and friends who were able to surround him during his last days.
Survivors include his sons: Carlton Gillette, Jr. of Sebring, FL, Marc Gillette (fiancée, Theresa Amaral), Keith Gillette and Michael Gillette, all of Fall River; his sisters: Carol Proulx, Shirley Korzeniowski, Patricia Gillette-Estrella, all of Fall River and Cathy Gillette of Berkley; his brothers: Roy Gillette, Jr. of New Bedford, and Clifford Gillette of Fall River; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Erica Gillette.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 9 AM from South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, Spring Street, Fall River. Inurnment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 14, from 4 - 8 PM.
