Thompson, CT.
Amy M. Canty , 42 of Thompson, CT. passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 after a brave three year battle with breast cancer.
She leaves her parents Kevin and Kristina (Lempicki) Canty of Thompson, her grandfather Victor A. Lempicki of Webster, her uncle and aunt Victor G. and Yvonne Lempicki of Websteruncles Dennis Canty of Quinebaug and Bob Monfils of Dudley and a cousin Matthew Lempicki of Webster. She was predeceased by her grandparents Cy and Helen Canty, her grandmother Virginia Lempicki and her special aunt and good friend Beth Canty.
Amy was a 1997 graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster and attended Worcester State College.
She was always a hard worker beginning with a part time job at Price Choppper at the age of sixteen. Her first full time job was at Commerce Insurance in Webster where she worked for nine years. She went on to hold various positions at UMass.
Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA., Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. and most recently at Harrington Healthcare in Webster.
An avid traveler and adventurer, Amy enjoyed her visits to all parts of the country. Whether it was a spur of the moment trip to Maine or New Hampshire or meticulously planned trips to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Florida, New York, or her beloved Jersey Shore, she was definitely in her element.
She relaxed by working in her garden, curled up with a good book and most of all watching her favorite TV show The Golden Girls with her cat Sami by her side.
Amy was a kind, caring person and a loyal friend.
Despite her struggles, she never gave up, never complained and lived her life to the very fullest.
She will be forever missed by her loving parents.
Calling Hour for Amy will be Monday September 19, 2022 from 9-10 Am at the ROBERT J.MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster followed by a procession and Funeral Service at 10:30 at Zion Lutheran Church, 70 Main St., Oxford.
Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to : Relay for Life of Northeastern Connecticut (of which Amy participated)
