Edgar A. Kelley, Jr., 93, of Tiverton, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. He was the longtime companion of Gertraud Poli of Austria and husband of the late Florence (Kelly) Kelley.
Born in Providence, he was son of the late Edgar A. and Marie (Capelli) Kelley. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Kelley was a graduate of Providence College, Class of 1951. He was the owner / operator of the former E.A. Kelley Company in Providence, RI until his retirement when he then started a real estate company. Mr. Kelley was a recreational aviator who had a passion for flying.
Including his companion, he is survived by 6 children: Edgar S. Kelley of Providence, Katherine M. Kelley of Little Compton, Peter E. Kelley of Providence, Barbara L. Kelley and her husband Peter F. Doyle of Little Compton, William M. Kelley and his wife Melinda of Houston, TX and Christopher J. Kelley of Los Angeles, CA; 2 sisters: Mary Louise Bagdovitz of FL and Patricia Myers of FL; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Robert J. Kelley and father in law of the late Henry R. Koehler and Sally O. Kelley.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 7 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be private.
