Irene Rachel Rosa, age 87, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 3, 2022, at the Royal Megansett Nursing & Retirement Home in North Falmouth.
Irene was born on February 16, 1935 in Swampscott, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Rosario and Isabel (Saulnier) Rosa. She was raised in Lynnfield and educated at Wakefield High School.
While living in Mansfield, she was a real estate agent for Christian & Schromm for many years. Later she worked as a sales associate for both Ross Jewelers and Long Jewelers. She enjoyed living near the ocean and spent many years in Sandwich before retiring to Norton. She loved gardening, and was passionate about the Red Sox and family.
Irene is survived by four children, Sharon Monaghan and her husband Joseph of Norton; Michael Corley and his wife Lee of Utah; Lauren Mulready and her husband Christopher of Norton; Joel LeFave and his wife Anette of Mendon. She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Fahnley of Falmouth, sister Nancy D’Alessandro of Tewksbury, and cousin Philip Rosa of Swampscott who was like a brother to her. She was the cherished grandmother of Jason, Adam, Jamie, Scott, Rachel, Joshua, Christopher, Jessica, Jeremy, Drew, Michael, Jillian, Callie, Ryan, Noah and the treasured great grandmother of Elsa, Addison, Eisley, Kierren, Noelle, Nathan, Eden, Isaac, Ella, Mina and is also survived by her loving several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, August 19th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey Street, Swampscott. Burial will follow at the Swampscott Cemetery in Swampscott.
