Rebecca W. Servais, 91

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Rebecca W. (Cheever) Servais, age 91, of Mansfield, formerly of Wellesley, passed away peaceful in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Servais, to whom she was wed for thirty-five years at the time of his death on October 31, 2021.

Born in New Haven, Ct on October 23, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cheever.

Becky grew up and was educated in New Haven, CT. A former resident of Wellesley, she had made her home in Mansfield for the past thirty-five years and prior to retiring was the Executive Secretary for the Town of Wellesley Planning Board.

When Becky entered Heaven, on July 20th, she was re-united with many friends and family who had gone before. Some may envision her at a shimmering Pond in the sky, while others may see her ballroom dancing on the clouds, one of her great joys. An early memory is of Becky, dancing around the living room, accompanied by her vacuum, to the tune of “Dear ol’ Donegal” sung by Ruby Murray.

Among her most cherished roles - Wife, mother, Grand-mother, Great grandmother …Becky loved family most of all! Her house, beautifully decorated and furnished was always comfortable and welcoming. She was a noted cook with many gastric delights on her resume’. However, her Chocolate cake was the talk of the town. Our family lore includes a chapter, titled “The Chocolate Cake Story.” Her favorite holiday was Christmas, as shopping dominated her planning from Summer until the Season began. Christmas day was an intimate gathering of loving family that she managed as only an event planner could appreciate.

Rebecca will be remembered most for her loving kindness, and her maternal nurture toward all around her … no matter what, she always found the good in people …

We will miss you every day …

She was the devoted mother of Diane B. Bethel of Warwick, RI, John H. Warfield and his wife Marjorie of Southborough, Peter Warfield and his wife Susan of Medway, Elizabeth T. Fruzzetti and her husband Russell of Berkley, the late George R. Warfield, MD, and the cherished grandmother and great grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. She is also survived by Bob’s children: Meg Mangan and her husband William of Greenwich, CT, R. Paul Servais of Colorado and Peter Servais and his wife Keri of Attleboro Falls.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 26th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be private.
