Gordon J. Onofrey (Red), 57, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2022.
He was a loving youngest brother of 7 siblings.
He loved playing little league baseball in New Bedford. When attending Dartmouth High School he had a passion for playing hockey. He also, played hockey for New Bedford Hetland Athletics.
When nephews and nieces would visit, he was always there to play with them. He enjoyed playing with young children in his younger years because, being the baby of the family, he finally got to be in charge.
He was a helping hand to neighbors when they needed him. When his parents got old and needed assistance, he was there to take care of them.
He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Gordon is survived by his siblings, Dennis Onofrey, Kevin Onofrey, Vanessa Nobles and husband Daryl, Douglas Onofrey and his wife Lisa, and her daughters-in-law, Carol Onofrey , nieces and nephews, Crystal Onofrey, Christopher Nobles, Kerri Onofrey and her partner Neil Lamontagne, Shayna Onofrey and her partner Steve Pacheco, Jennifer Nobles, Aaron Onofrey and his wife Leia, and Lauren Onofrey and her partner Paul Fernandes, and his grand nieces and nephews, Josh Onofrey, Heather Onofrey, Tyler Hamel, Craig Onofrey, Ashlen Onofrey, Rashid Hazzard, Cooper Pacheco, Colby Pacheco, Nevaeh Fernandes, Indigo Onofrey and Finley Pacheco.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents William F. Onofrey and Doris Dube Onofrey and brothers William “Billy” Onofrey and Kenneth “Kenny” Onofrey, his sister-in-law Sharon Onofrey and nephew Craig Onofrey.
