Ines Resendes, age 101, of Somerville passed away on Sunday, June 12th. Born and raised in Sao Pedro, Santa Maria, The Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim de Mouro and the late Angelina da Conceicao.

Ines was the beloved wife of the late Manuel De Sousa, and the devoted mother of Helena Barros and her husband Antonio of Somerville, Gilberto Sousa of Somerville and his former wife Ana Isabel of Lowell, and Dinis Sousa and his wife Zelia of Stoughton. She was the loving grandmother of Paula Barros and her partner Michael Wright, Fabio Sousa and his wife Allison, Catia Frasier and her husband John, Joseph Sousa, Dennis Sousa and his wife Sarah, Maura Bohara and her husband Theadoro, and the late Roberto "Xico" Sousa. Ines was the great grandmother of 12, and is survived by three sisters in Santa Maria. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 12 Properzi Way, Somerville, on Wednesday, June 15th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, from 9 through 11 AM prior to the mass. Services will conclude with burial at St. Paul Cemetery, Arlington.
