Rosemarie “Chickie” Edwards, age 75, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of Roy Edwards. They were married for 54 years.
Born in Stoughton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen (Conefrey) Distasi.
Rosemarie was a graduate of Brockton High School. She worked as a paraprofessional for Brockton Public Schools for many years. A loving and caring mother who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed crafts and jewelry making. Before Michael's she graduated from the Mansfield School of Beauty in Boston and worked for Rose's Hair Salon at Brockton Public Market for a few years and then for many years at the Avon Hair Salon on Main Street in Avon. Rosemarie taught jewelry making at Michael’s and Brockton High School in the Special Needs Department. She also enjoyed reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and collecting Cardinal memorabilia. Rosemarie was a great cook who made some of the best Italian sauce and cuisine.
In addition to her husband Roy, she leaves her children, Charlene M. Regan and her husband Barry of Ipswich, Michael S. Edwards and his girlfriend Shannon Boyd of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Nicholas P. Edwards and his wife Christa of Weehawken, NJ, and Kerri L. Edwards, of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Riley and Rory Regan; three siblings, Dennis Distasi and his wife Retta of East Bridgewater, Linda Terry and her husband Al, and Frances Morton, of Florida; a brother in law, James Edwards and his wife Monika, of Roslindale; a sister in law, Paula Bartorelli and her fiancé Peter Skaltsis of Brockton; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Rosemarie’s family on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rt. 123) Brockton. Interment will be held at a late date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne.
