Carlo Vetrano, age 82, of Somerville passed away on Tuesday, May 31st. Born and raised in Castellamare Del Golfo, Sicily, he was the son of the late Antonio and Antonia (Letizia) Vetrano. Carlo moved to Germany in 1962 and to the U.S. in 1971. He settled in Somerville and worked as a brick mason, building many of the walls and staircases still standing today in Somerville and Medford. Carlo also loved to garden and was proud of the vegetables he grew each year.

Carlo was the beloved husband of Paola (Fodera) Vetrano, and the devoted father of Antonia Vetrano, Antonio Vetrano and his wife Lori, Francesca Vetrano, Maria Carla Pahor and her husband Stefan, Josie Vetrano Sherman and her husband Patrick, and the late Rosalia Zubricki and her surviving husband Zachary. He was the loving grandfather of Jessica Brennan and her husband Mark, Michael Coburn, Carlo Vetrano, Angelina and William Zubricki, Francesca Zimmerman, and Niko and Gaetano Pahor. Carlo was the loving great-grandfather of Robert and Damien Brennan, and the dear brother of the late Giuseppe, Rocco, Antonino and Francesca. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, June 4th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family in the funeral home from 8:30 AM through 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel Hill, Malden.
