Beatrice (Bailey) Shields, 90, passed away May 24, 2022 at her home in Anderson, following an extended illness.
She was born on November 7, 1931 in Baileysville, West Virginia, the daughter of Lacy and Zula (Holcomb) Bailey. Beatrice came to Anderson to attend Anderson College and later was employed for over 35 years with Warner Press, working with computers and data processing. She was a member of Eastside Church of God, the Bykota Sunday School Class, and enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Donald L. Shields, whom she married August 16, 1952; her children, Donna (Danny) Piercy of Glasgow, KY and Allen D. Shields of Anderson; grandchildren, Jessica Zipf, Kate (Zach) Minor, Kyle Shields; great grandchildren, Evan, Aunja, Cato, Lucas; siblings, Larry “Leland” (Bertha) Bailey of Middletown, Retha Shannon of FL, Norma Butzky of Chicago; several nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Anita Jack. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will also be held on Friday at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Eastside Church of God.
