Manuel A. Sousa, 83, of Westport, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Maria N. (Sousa) Sousa, they shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Madeira, Portugal, son of the late Crespin and Antonia F. (Candelaria) de Sousa, he immigrated to the United States in 1968. He was the owner / operator of Sousa Masonry, Westport. He was an avid gardener and took pride in growing his vegetables. Mr. Sousa was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and was a member of the SS Sacramento Madeira Club, New Bedford and the Madeira Sports Club, New Bedford.
Including his wife, survivors include a brother: Jose' de Sousa of Westport; a sister: Nazare' Laranga of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Michael Sousa and brother of the late Abel de Sousa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 20, 2022 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
