Michael F. Conroy, age 88, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joan (Hultgren) Conroy.
Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Leo and Thelma (Lawn) Conroy.
He attended Brockton Public Schools and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean war.
After his dedicated service to our country, he worked at Blue Hill Cemetery for many years and previously worked for Randy Shoes in Randolph as well as some landscaping.
Some of Michael’s interests include playing cards, going out to eat, especially at his favorite restaurants, Alexanders, the 99, and Dairy Queen. He enjoyed his jelly donut from Dunkin Donuts. Michael also enjoyed roller skating in his younger years and maintained his own roller skates. Mr. Conroy was a loyal fan of all the New England Sports teams.
He will be remembered as a devoted family man who deeply loved his family and always worked hard.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Kathy Conroy, of Brockton, Michele Conroy, and her husband, Michael DeRosa, of Brockton, Michael Conroy, Jr., and his wife Patrice, of Brockton, and Suzanne (Conroy) Martelli and her husband Victor III, of Avon and was the father of late Christopher John Conroy: five grandchildren, Sheila Cashman, Sofia Martelli, Victor Martelli IV, Tyler Grieco, Nicole Sorey, and Anthony Ryan: two great grandchildren, Jeffery Buonassisi and Mikhaela Cashman: a sister in law, Gloria Conroy; a brother in law, Joseph Jacabuci; many nieces, nephews, friends, and cemetery family who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment with military honors will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
