Michel L.G. Chiron, 86, of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Care One New Bedford. He was the former husband of the late Marguerite (Plaud) Chiron.
Mr. Chiron was born in Paris, France son of the late Florent M. and Suzanne M. (Deniau) Chiron and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth before relocating to New Bedford. Prior to retirement, he worked as a machinist for Cape Cod Ship Building. Mr. Chiron enjoyed many things including computers, inventing, math and stock trading. He was also an avid gardener and beekeeper.
Survivors include his 2 sons: Jean-Pierre Chiron and his wife Colleen of Westport and Rene J. Chiron of Fall River; his daughter: Dora Chiron Font and her husband Tony of FL; his brother: Jacques Chiron and his wife Jacqueline of France; 5 grandchildren: Lindsey Chiron, Kelly Doran, Benjamin Chiron, Maxwell Chiron and Ryan Font; 2 great grandchildren: Emma and Carter; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday from 9-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
