Obituary

David Seth Abbott was born December 10, 1953 and adopted by Mary Louise and Clinton Abbott of Winnetka, Illinois. His parents both predeceased him. He graduated from New Trier High School, class of 1972. He went on to attend Roger Williams College in Bristol, Rhode Island. He graduated with a degree in theater. Seth, as he was generally known, worked at a variety of jobs, but always kept his focus on the stage. He worked with the The Rhode Island Shakespeare Theater (TRIST), Beechwood Mansion, Bright Lights Theater, City Nights Dinner Theater, and Kaleidoscope Theater, to name just a few.

In 1988 he met Nancy Brown, the woman who would become his wife. They were both appearing in the stage production of “Harvey.” They married in 1991, and in 1992, their daughter, Kathryn Laura was born. Kathryn was the light of Seth’s life.

Seth had many and varied interests. He dabbled in Christian illusion, often illustrating his faith through sleight of hand. He also loved horses, and owned a polo pony and a draft horse at one time. He could be seen riding in parades and driving a carriage around town.

The Abbott family moved to Derry, NH in 2003 and Seth continued his love of theater by performing with Music and Drama Company, Nashua Theater Guild, and Raymond City Arts. In 2016, he started working at the Robert Frost Farm in Derry as a tour guide, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.

Seth worshiped at several evangelical churches in the Derry area: First Baptist Church of Derry, Windham Bible Chapel, and finally, Bridgeway Christian Church. He enjoyed working in the kitchen, serving the congregation, and volunteering at various food pantries.

Seth died at home from complications of heart failure and kidney disease on May 8th. His wife and daughter are comforted to know he is in Heaven and free from pain and suffering. All are welcome to attend a memorial service celebrating Seth's life on Wednesday, May 18th at 6 p.m. at the Bridgeway Christian Church on Route 28 in Derry. There will be refreshments following the service.
