Jacklyn Sue "Jackie" (Johnson) Alvey, 72 of Anderson died April 26, 2022 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after an extended illness.
She was born November 5, 1949 in Anderson the daughter of Lotis and Martha Laura (Conklin) Johnson.
She received her bachelor's degree in education at Ball State University and was a preschool teacher for Pendleton Christian Church Nursery School and worked for Marsh Supermarket.
She attended Pendleton Christian Church, loved doing crafts, watching television and volunteering at the food pantry.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Rosalie) Alvey of Anderson; a niece, that was thought of as a daughter, Staci (John) Alsop of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Alvey of Greenfield, Zachary Alvey and Christian Alvey both of Anderson, Kira Alsop and Kai Alsop of North Carolina; two sisters, Saundra (Robert) Gustin of Pendleton and Cindy (Mike) Stewart of Peru; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Charles "Chuck" Alvey and a sister, Janet Stacy.
Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pendleton Christian Church, 1170 South Pendleton Avenue; Pendleton, IN 46064. The family asks that everyone bring a favorite dish or dessert to share for the gathering.
Memorial contributions may be given to any local food pantry of the donor's choice.
