Ronald Bernard Croaken, 77, of Lyman, passed away at the Maine Medical Center in Portland on April 20, 2022. He was the devoted husband of Anne Marie (Bernard) Croaken.
Born in Lynn on August 31, 1944 and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Bernard and Eva (Cote) Croaken. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute with an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and went on to receive MBA from Northeastern University.
Ron began his construction career as a Project Manager for Digital Equipment in Massachusetts. He managed the construction of the first semi-conductor plant in the U.S. in Hudson, MA. He moved on to become a self-employed consultant and built ‘clean rooms’ throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Ron was the Project Manager for the construction of a facility called NOC (Network Operations Center) for COMPAC in Burlington, MA. The center monitors and controls global networking.
His pride and joy was being the chairman of the building committee to construct St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church in Boylston, MA, where he resided at the time. He was also a former member and Chairman of the Boylston Planning Board and was a former President of the Wentworth Institute Alumni Association and member of the Board of Directors.
