Obituary

Kay “Jackie” Crowther passed away peacefully at Brockton Hospital on January 21, 2022 at the age of 80. Jackie was born in Quincy on September 11, 1941 to her late parents Christine and Jack McGonnigal.

Adored wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Jackie spent her life surrounded by those she loved and those that loved her.

After graduating from Quincy Junior College, Jackie worked for Dana Farber and Boston State College, where she met her beloved husband, Fred Crowther. They married on July 31, 1965 and have been inseparable ever since.

Jackie dedicated her life to her family and community, constantly volunteering her time to educational and youth sports organizations on the South Shore. In her free time, Jackie was a gifted crafter and seamstress who stamped thousands of handmade cards that touched the lives of every recipient. When she put down her materials, Jackie could be found surrounded by friends and family watching Boston sports teams; her love for the Patriots was surpassed only by her love for her family.

It was impossible to know Jackie and not smile whenever you saw her. Jackie was universally beloved for her kindness, warmth, and generosity. The family has been touched by the outpouring of love and support from everyone who knew Jackie, even if only briefly, as it’s further proof of how special she truly was. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The cherished wife of 56 years to Fred Crowther of Brockton, Jackie was the loving mother of Tracy Walsh of Hanover and her fiancé Jim Slade, the late Todd Crowther and his wife Maria of Stoughton, and Jonathan Crowther and his wife Nicole of South Weymouth; beloved “Gram” of Patrick, Katie, and Jack Walsh, and Sean Crowther; dear sister of James McGonnigal; and treasured friend of Elizabeth Ingram.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (rte 123) Brockton on Thursday January 27, 2022 from 3-6pm follow by a funeral service at 6pm.
