Kathleen M. (Broderick) Hines, age 74, of Mansfield, formerly of Foxborough and Dedham passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Hines, to whom she was wed for forty-five years at the time of his death on December 31, 2018.

Born in Boston, MA on December 27, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Francis E. and Eleanor M. (Russo) Broderick.

Kathleen grew up in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past thirty-nine years and previously resided in Foxborough. She was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had also worked for thirty-five years in the hospitality department at area hotels.

A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Foxborough, Mrs. Hines treasured the times and memories created with family and when her children were younger, she volunteered at their schools and always followed their activities closely. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and knitting. She always maintained a special place in her heart for the pet dogs that lived at her home throughout the years and will always be remembered fondly for her exceptional baking skills.

She is survived by her devoted children: Kelly A. Walsh of Mansfield and Josh D. Hines and his wife Maura of Hanover. She was the cherished grandmother of Jack Walsh of Mansfield and Maren, William, Connor and Charles Hines all of Hanover. She was the dear sister of Richard Broderick and his wife Setsu of California, Joan O’Brien and her husband William of Westwood and Thomas Broderick and his wife Theresa of Mansfield. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, January 25th from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Funeral Mass will follow visitation on Tuesday morning and will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Burial will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, donations in her memory may be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
