Roberta J. (Harrison) Edwards, age 79, of Norton, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was the wife of the late George F. Edwards and the former wife of the late Stanley F. Emerick, Sr.
Born in Boston, MA on October 5, 1942, she was a loving daughter of the late Earle R. and Vera M. (Zemotel) Harrison.
Roberta grew up and was educated in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. A former longtime resident of Dorchester, she had made her home in Norton for the past five years. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a Paraprofessional for the Boston School System for thirty years.
Roberta’s family, whom she loved unconditionally, were the essence and focal point of her life. She loved playing bingo, cards, cribbage, dominoes, puzzles and UNO. Since living in Norton she was a familiar face at the Norton Senior Center, where she truly enjoyed socializing with friends.
She is survived by her devoted children: Stanley F. Emerick, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Colchester, CT. Paul V. Emerick of Quincy, Kimberly A. Cangiano and her husband David and the late Jacqueline M. Emerick. She was the cherished grandmother of Brandon, Brett, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Emily, Robbie and the great grandmother of Ryder.
Services, along with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester will be private.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Roberta with a donation in her memory made to the Norton Senior Center, 55 West Main Street, Norton, MA 02766.
