Obituary

“USKenneth R. Brown, 69, affectionately known as “Downtown Kenny Brown” passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Vickie D. (McComb) Brown.

Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Henry and Vera (Brown) Sanders.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marines from 1971-1972. Kenny worked at Harry the Greeks then eventually retired from Empire Loan where he worked as a pawn broker for many years.

Mr. Brown was very family oriented, and everyone loved him. He enjoyed playing video games, gardening, and fashion. He was known to be a “showstopper” as he was often approached to help those in need who lacked style. Kenny also loved cars, especially Cadillac’s! You could often hear the tv in his house blaring the sound of cowboy western’s loud enough so everyone can hear what he was watching. He was also an avid card player, playing games such as “spades'' and rolling dice. Most of all his greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.

Along with his wife Vickie, he leaves his children, Kenneth A. Brown, Jeanna A. Brown, Shamal J. Brown. Kenya R. Brown-Milfort, Jasmin O.A.Brown, Terenne J. Brown, Taurean A. Brown, Etienne H. Brown, Jarus R. Brown, Susan E Minot, and LaDawn Jackson; his many adored grandchildren, Kiara Ashley, Kenneth Thompson- Gore, Khaylen Bester Brown, Brandon Strout, Mila Brown, Kenza Barros-Brown, Kenzel Barros-Brown, Nathaniel Brown-Leslie, Yalisiannah Brown, Shamal J. Brown, Savant Minot, Sakoi Brown, Savion Brown, Arnezia Jones, DeVondre Davis, Arn Jones, Kaleb Milfort, Khya Brown, Khalyce Brown, Zarianna Brown, Dazyiah Brown, Tyjel Dunn, Irmani Pires-Brown, Victoria Brown, DeVahia Marshall, Ziondre Privott, Nesiah Brown, Jariah Brown, Jayanii Brown, Prince Nyelle Milfort, Aamal Brown, Kamander Brown, Rhaeyn Brown and great grandchildren, Braxton Proby, Kingston Bester-Brown, Kai’yann Bester Brown and one on the way. He also leaves to mourn his sister, Flori J Niane ; a brother, John Sanders; his sister in laws, Pamela Bester, Kathleen Wilson and Mrs. James Mccomb; and his God children, Ranell Lewis, Amanda Buford, Zariah Sheffield.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Kenny’s Celebration of Life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant Street, Brockton. Following the service, the United States Marines Corps will render Military Honors. Interment will be private. Repass to follow immediately at The Prefect Place located at 2039 Main Street Brockton MA from 1pm to 5pm. We ask that everyone wear masks during the service.

Funeral services will be live streamed beginning at 10:30 am.
