Marie C. (Fusco) Hanley passed away peacefully comforted by the love of her family at the Winchester Hospital on Wednesday January 12th. She was 90. A life-long Medford resident, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Cirillo) Fusco. Although Marie worked for 20 years with Polaroid Corp. in Waltham, her life was her family. She was a mother through and through. She had an abiding love and respect for her family. She loved her late husband deeply. She was devoted to her children and had a close relationship with each of them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were precious to her. Whether in the simple things of life such as preparing delicious meals, meatballs or peppers and eggs, making family and friends feeling welcome at her home and always being present to her family for life’s many events, Marie shared her depth of love. She also had a great pride and love for her community. She loved Medford, the people, the neighborhoods, the local shops and the deep sense of community she enjoyed growing up in South Medford.

The beloved wife of John L. Hanley who passed away in 2008, Marie was a devoted mother to Maria Hanley and her husband Robert Galante of Wilmington, Frances Mahoney of Grafton, Linda Jonuskis of Conway, SC, Lisa Hanley and Bill of Medford, Timothy Hanley and his wife Terri of Medford and the late John M. Hanley. Marie was a loving grandmother to Patrick, John, Marc, Peter, Anna, Shannon, Ryan and Timmy. She was a loving great-grandmother to Peter, Giovanni, Emilia, Lila and Andrew. Marie was predeceased by her dear siblings: Lucy Peters, Irma Gionfriddo, Louie, Al, Ernie and Helen Fusco.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Friday, January 21st from 4 – 8 PM and again on Saturday morning at 10 with a procession to St. Raphael Church, 512 High St. Medford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
