William B. “Bill” Pelton, Jr., age 57 of East Bridgewater, died unexpectedly at Brockton Hospital on Thursday, January 6, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Maureen D. (Gillette) Pelton.
The son of Winnifred Kathleen (Barry) and William B. Pelton, Sr., Bill was born, raised, and educated in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School class of 1982 where he was a member of both the football and baseball teams.
He was a package car driver for UPS in Brockton and more recently Kingston for 36 years. Bill and his family resided in East Bridgewater for 27 years.
Bill coached youth football and baseball in East Bridgewater and football at Cardinal Spellman. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Patriots, Red Sox and golf. Most importantly, Bill treasured time with his wife, children, family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill leaves his children William B. Pelton, III and his partner, Victoria Masterson of Whitman and Colleen Pelton and her partner, Justin Breton of Bridgewater. He was the brother of Patricia Ansbro and her husband Thomas of Salisbury, NC; Charles Raymond Pelton and his wife Nancy of Auburn, NH; Mary Rose Rogers and her husband Patrick of Franklin, MA and Winnifred Kathleen DeFeo and her husband Dan of Foxboro, MA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Friday January 14, from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. John Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater on Saturday January 15, at 9am. Burial to follow in Central Cemetery, E. Bridgewater.
Bill’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to the William Pelton Jr. Scholarship Fund c/o Cardinal Spellman High School, 738 Court St., Brockton, MA 02302. Please wear masks in the funeral home and in church.
