Joanne M. (Porcaro) Nickerson, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away peacefully at her home on January 6th. She was 75. Born in Everett she was the daughter of the late Jennie (DeMarco) Porcaro.

Joanne’s family meant the world to her; they were her pride and joy. When it came to Joanne’s grandchildren there was nothing that she wouldn’t do for them. When her daughters were young Joanne was known as the neighborhood Mom. She helped all their friends, and always welcomed them over. Once they walked through the door Joanne would sit them down at the kitchen table and served them her homemade Italian delicacies.

Joanne was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Ronson B. Nickerson. She was the devoted mother of Lisa A. McBrine and her husband Steve of Milford, NH, and Kimberly A. McBrine and her husband Mike of Windham, NH. She was the loving Nona of Brooke Blair and Daniel McBrine. She was the dear sister of Benny Porcaro, Carolann DiNuccio, and Maryanne DiSano and her husband Jim. Joanne is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 22nd from 10 to 11 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service celebrated in the funeral home at 11 AM.
