Obituary

Barbara (Keenan) Asiaf, age 73, of Raynham, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Worcester, she was the eldest daughter of Arthur L. Keenan, Sr. and Esther (Mahoney). She graduated from St. Peter's Grammar School and St. Peter's High School and studied to be a Radiologic Technologist at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.

Barbara worked as a Radiologic Technologist at Brockton Hospital where she met many of her closest friends. She found great joy working with and teaching radiology technology students at both the Brockton Hospital and later at the Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain.

Barbara's favorite place was Drake's lsland in Wells, ME. For more than 30 years she found respite at her summer cottage, the Restigouche, where she enjoyed the beautiful sand, the ocean breeze and the good company of friends and family. Her greatest joy in life was her family and especially her four granddaughters Ella, Julia, Mia and Lily. They were her pride and joy and a source of constant entertainment and encouragement over the last few years. She was also a devoted Christian spending many hours reading the bible and in prayer. Barbara's constant faith was a source of strength; she will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her two daughters LeeAnn Manning and her husband Geoffrey of South Boston and Alison Ortiz and her husband Gadiel of Raynham; four beloved granddaughters, Ella and Julia Manning and Mia and Lily Ortiz; three siblings, Richard Keenan and his wife Judy of Worcester, Lee Keenan and his wife Beth of Naples, FL and Kathleen Keenan of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves her sister-in-law Jeanne (Asiaf) Quinn of Plymouth, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara's life will be remembered with a Celebration of Life to be scheduled at a later date.
