Frances “Fran” (Arena) Carner, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24th. The longest living member of the family, she was 101 years of age. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Martino and Accursia (Puleo) Arena.

As a devoted daughter, she cared for her bed-ridden mother for many years with impeccable care and love. Fran was a woman of deep faith and a committed parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church in Boston. She enjoyed time spent with her family, vacations to Canada, reading and watching the Catholic Mass daily.

Fran was the beloved wife of 31 years to the late Lawrence “Larry” Carner. She was the dear sister of the late Anna, Anti, Tony, Jenny, Joan and Gus, and the loving aunt of Marie Costantino and her children Jessica and Keith. She is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. She will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Thursday, December 30th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Leonard’s Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston, at 10:00 AM. Face masks and social distancing required. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
