12/27/2021

Lena J. (DiBlasi) Muccini, lovingly known as “Lee” and “Nana” passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital, early Monday morning. She was 95. Born and raised in Boston’s West End she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Purpura) DiBlasi. A Medford resident for over 70 years, Lee lived a long and vibrant life. As a young woman, she worked as a seamstress in the clothing industry and also worked at the famed Schrafft’s Candies in Charlestown. She was especially proud to have served as a lunch mother at the Osgood School in Medford. Most of all, Lee was devoted to her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lee enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with those she loved. She was a voracious reader and always made time to listen to the music of Andre Bocelli. A devout woman who was Godmother to many, Lee looked forward to spending special time with her grandchildren. A beloved neighbor to her many friends in the Wellington neighborhood where she lived so long, Lee became an equally kind neighbor to her fellow seniors at Tempone Manor.

The beloved wife of the late Orizio “George” Muccini, Lee was a devoted mother to Stephen Muccini and his wife Jerusha, and to Stephanie Muccini Burke and her husband Brian. She was a loving grandmother to Ryan Burke and his wife Sara, Connor Lee Burke and Bri Georgie Burke. She was also a proud and loving great-grandmother to Hunter. Lee is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at St Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford on Thursday December 30th from 10:30 AM – Noon with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Noon. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers please honor Lee's memory by making a contribution to The Medford Public Library Foundation, PO Box 215, Medford, MA 02155 or to Door2Door, 167 Holland St., Somerville, MA 02144.
