Twitchell, Eunice (O'Brien) A. 89, of Wellesley, passed away on December 19. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul F Twitchell.
Born in Boston in 1932, Eunice grew up in Jamaica Plain, MA. She was the daughter of the late James L. and Katherine, (Donovan) O'Brien. She was the sister of the late James G. O'Brien is survived by her sister Sally Best, and her brother, Dick O'Brien.
Devoted mother of Katherine T. Twitchell of Wellesley, Nancy T. Murphy and her husband Brian of Falmouth, Paul F Twitchell Jr and his husband Charles Ashworth II of Norwood, Kevin G. Twitchell and his wife Carolyn of Glen Ridge NJ.
Eunice lived for her family and was a doting grandmother of Caitlin, Connor, Kyle, Ryan, Grace, Evan, Cassidy, and Cameron, and great grandmother to Aiden.
Eunice had an outgoing positive spirit with an infectious smile that would light up a room. She shared her love and spirituality with all. One of her favorite expressions was: “Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone.” She had several lifelong and devoted friends from her various activities with St. Paul’s parish, the Wellesley Council on Aging, Friendship Circle and Service League.
She volunteered her time with multiple organizations including the Red Cross, Wellesley Public Schools, and the Historical Society of Annapolis, MD, but her lasting memories were as wedding coordinator for the US Naval Academy, St. Mary’s parish in Annapolis, MD, and St. John’s parish in Wellesley.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. Wellesley on Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Wellesley Friendly Aid Society (https://wellesleyfriendlyaid.org/) or a charity of your choice.
