Obituary

Mary (Giacobbe) DePesa of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2021 at the age of 101.
Mary was born on July 3, 1920 in Monson, Massachusetts, the sixth of 12 children born to Nicola and Angelina Giacobbe. She grew up in Boston, where she worked as a dress maker and seamstress while spending her free time dancing. She met her husband, Michele (Mike) DePesa, at the Roseland State ballroom, and they were married in 1948. She raised five children in Hyde Park and instilled in each of them her strong work ethic, her practical intelligence, and her devout commitment to family. She is survived by her five children, Michael, Janet, Ronald, Christine, and MaryAnn (Mimi), her eight grandchildren, and her eleven great-grandchildren.

Mary cherished her family, and they adored her. When she wasn’t cooking for them, she was winning their money playing poker, even in her last days. She possessed a wealth of wisdom and generosity with both her time and her advice. She lived a long, fulfilled life and considered herself blessed to be surrounded by the people that she cared the most about.

She was an irreplaceable source of stability, an irrepressible supporter, and an endless source of love. She was beautiful, and she will be missed.

“Lots of love and good health”
