Charles A. Bedard, 66, of Salem. passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, after a four week battle with complications from COVID 19.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Cynthia K. (Turner) Bedard. Shortly after his birth his family returned to Salem where he was raised and graduated from Salem High School, Class of ’74. He began his career working in the auto body industry. In the later part of his life he worked as a finish carpenter in residential and commercial construction. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail. But, his true life’s passion was to be the best grandfather.
He is survived by his loving grandchildren; Ryann and Hannah Bedard, who will miss their Pa, Benjamin, Cameron and Dylan Cregier, Tristan, Aidan and Paxton Berthe who lovingly referred to him as Chachi. He is also survived by his son, Seith M. Bedard and his wife Rachel, his siblings, Rebekah Bedard, Rachel Winstanley, Fred Bedard and Ruth Scott, his longtime friend, Christine G. Caldwell and her daughters Patricia Berthe Cregier, Natalie Cooper-Berthe and Cara Berthe. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was met in heaven by his late daughter, Cassandra Bedard-Leslie, and parents, Alfred and Cynthia Bedard.
His family encourages others to help them heal from the pain of losing Charles by choosing to vaccinate themselves and their loved ones. There will be no services at the present time.
