Maria Gorete Ornelas, age 66, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021.
Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, she is the beloved daughter of the late Carlos Ornelas and sister to the late, Emanuel Ornelas.
Besides her loving mother, Natalia Ornelas, Gorete is survived by her loving sisters Dores de Freitas, Diva Steiner, MaryJo DeAndrade, Rita Ornelas and Helen Taylor. She is also survived by her loving brothers, Carlos Ornelas, Antonio Ornelas, Daniel Ornelas, Joe Ornelas, Michael Ornelas and Norman Ornelas. She is a sister-in-law to many, an aunt to many nieces and nephews, a loving niece to aunts and uncles and a cousin to many.
Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her loving family that she loved immensely. Gorete was a very caring and unselfish person. She had an infectious smile that brightened your worse day, a kind soul, and a calmness to her voice. She loved her trips to Dunkin Donuts for her coffee and plain donut. She would have been a great spokesperson for Dunkin Donut.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside on Wednesday, November 17th at 1 p.m. at the Mayflower Cemetery in Taunton. Visiting hours are kindly omitted.
