WAYLAND: Emmanuel ‘Arnie’ Parseghian, 78, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family at his residence in Wayland on Friday evening, November 5, 2021.
He was born in Cambridge on May 1, 1943 the son of the late Richard H. Parseghian and Angel (Levonian) Parseghian.
Arnie is survived by his two sons, Scott R. Parseghian of Wayland and Michael W. Parseghian and his wife Stacia of Redondo Beach, CA. Devoted grandfather of four grandsons; Dante, Damian, Penn and Leigh Parseghian. He was the brother of Eileen Hertel of Dover, New Hampshire and Wayne R. Parseghian and his wife Susan of Arlington.
Arnie has been a resident of Wayland for the past several years and previously resided in Wrentham. He spent his formative years in Belmont and was a graduate of Belmont High School where he co-captained his varsity football team. He received his BS in Business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and he had a successful career, before retiring, as the Owner of Hancock Furniture of Quincy.
His passion and energy always revolved around his family and he especially enjoyed time with them at their summer house on Crystal Lake in New Hampshire. He loved his music and never missed an opportunity to play “Earth, Wind and Fire” while driving his Corvette, no matter what season. He was a supportive grandfather and could always be found on the sidelines cheering on his grandsons as they played their various sports. He was a true fixture under Friday nights’ lights as his son coached the Varsity Football Team in Wayland.
He will be fondly remembered and missed by all the lives that he touched, but especially by his family.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.
