Aurhea “Anne” (Bedard) Boulay, 86, former resident of Salem, passed away peacefully at Care One, Essex Park, Beverly MA on October 25, 2021. Anne was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Boulay.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late George and Zelia (Tardiff) Bedard. As a young woman she enjoyed working at the Sylvania Company in Salem until she started a family. As a loving mother, she devoted herself to the care and well being of her young family. However, she still remained active in the community. During the 60s and 70s, Ann was an integral member of Mayor Levesque’s campaign team that helped secure numerous election victories. She was also involved in community programs for the Ward 4 district. After raising her children Anne was employed by EG&G in Salem for over 19 years, retiring in 1997. During her time with EG&G she was recognized on many occasions for her dedication and outstanding performance.

A very social and fun loving woman, Anne was a former member of the VFW Post 1524 Women’s Auxiliary and was active with the former St. Joseph Bingo and Christmas Fair as well as for St. Anne Parish of Salem. Anne was a loving, caring woman who loved her family and large extended family. Her warmth and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Anne is survived by her five children, Andrea M. Dion of Pleasanton, CA., Carol A. Haefner and Robert of Peabody, MA., James R. Gagnon of Schenectady, NY., Mark D. Gagnon and wife Tracey of England, William R. Boulay of Salem and her sister, Lucille St. Pierre of Salem. Anne also leaves eleven grandchildren; Lisa Sousa, Robert Haefner, Jr., Rena Battista, Nicole & Matthew Dion, Kayleigh, Benjamin, Victoria & Gabriella Gagnon, Mason & Seth Boulay, as well as 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, Claudette Pinault, Olivette Theriault, Theresa Hutchinson, Leona McAuley, Roland & Raymond Bedard and her son-in-law Gregory Dion.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M.,at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem.
