Betty (Harrison) Green of Wayland and Brewster formerly of Wellesley, September 16, 2021. Born in Somerville, MA. in 1933.
Predeceased by her parents, Marguerite (Lundborn) and Eric Harrison, of Dennisport, MA, her sister Barbara Maurer and her husband Walter of Statesville, NC, aunts Mildred Kohl and her husband Philip Kohl of Dennisport, MA, and Elsie Lundborn of Dennisport, MA.
A longtime resident of Wellesley, MA, Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, John H. Green; by three children, Douglas Green of Oceanside, CA., Susan Green of Framingham, MA., and Mark Green and his wife, Dawn of Leicester, NC., and by five grandchildren, Christopher Green and his wife Dennise of Jersey City, NJ., Kirsten (Witunski) Wilson and her husband Alex of Norwood, MA, Connor Green of Mattapoisett, MA., Meghan Green of South Boston, MA., and Kyle Witunski of Cardiff, CA. She is predeceased by her grandson, Eric Witunski, of Framingham, MA.
A 1951 graduate of Medford High School, Betty earned a Bachelor’s degree in 1955 from Bridgewater State University, majoring in elementary education. She taught at the Franklin School in Lexington, MA. prior to moving to Arlington, VA. with her husband when he was assigned to an Army post in Washington, D.C.
Betty later pursued a successful career in real estate in Longmeadow, MA. and Wellesley, MA., where she was affiliated with Baker and Ross, and Hunneman and Coldwell Banker offices. She retired in 1997.
Betty cherished her time on Cape Cod, where she loved gardening, interior decorating, and frequent family and neighborhood gatherings.
