Donal Ricard Sisk
9/10/2021

Donal Ricard Sisk aka (Don, Dad, Uncle Don, Grandpa), 90, formerly of Norwood, MA, West Dennis, MA and Lincoln, NH passed away September 10, 2021 in Boston. He was raised in Brookline by Joseph and Marie Donovan Sisk and attended the Rivers School where he excelled in athletics and satisfied his academics. He attended Brown University and later graduated from Boston College. He participated in ROTC and became a lieutenant in the US Army. Around this time he became smitten with a pretty young nurse, Ann Talbot, and they married and had five children. Don enjoyed a long career in property management with the Niles Company and spent many years overseeing Westbrook (now Hancock) Village in Brookline. He and his wife were able to travel and particularly loved to go on cruises with friends. Cherished memories were made during many summers spent at the Wrinkle Point neighborhood in West Dennis. He enjoyed a nicely built fire when it got a little chilly. Don was also an avid Patriots and Seinfeld fan. He had a sweet tooth, a great sense of humor and loved to play with his grandchildren. But, if you ask anyone who knew him, fishing was his absolute favorite pastime. He was good at it too - and kept his tricks to himself. He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings Joseph Sisk and Marie Sisk Muller, and his devoted wife Ann. He is survived by his five children, Donal Jr. (Amy McElwain) of Roslindale, Jeffrey of Brookline, John (Tricia) of Needham, Nancy Scarlata of West Roxbury and Jim (Regina) of Norwood. He also leaves six grandchildren, Alexandra and Nick Scarlata, Laura Sisk and Kevin, Annie and Colleen Sisk as well as his sister-in-law Louise Curtice and dear friend and out-law Sid Bennett. Survivors also include his many beloved nieces and nephews. Don was a kind and generous man and was respectful to all regardless of their station in life. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the patient and gentle staff at the Springhouse Senior Living Community.

Burial at Mt. Benedict Cemetery will be private and a memorial for friends and extended family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Don's name can be made to The Fishing Academy (www.thefishingacademy.org), 16 Adair Road, Brighton, MA 02135 to provide angling experiences to deserving local youth or to Dr. Rameem Beroukhim's Giving Page, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development & the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02445 for specialized research into brain cancer treatments.
