WEST SPRINGFIELD - Noella M. (Godard) Green, 96, of West Springfield and a longtime resident of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Advent Health in Orlando, Florida surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 25, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur P. and Lena M. (Hebert) Godard. She was raised and educated in Springfield where she lived for many years, moved to Longwood FL in 2000, returned to Springfield in 2001, then returned to Florida in 2020. She and her late husband, George, were the co-owners of 1 Hour Valet Cleaners on the corner of Carew and Chestnut Streets in Springfield. She was a former communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield. She was a wonderful woman who adored her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, George M. Green who was Called Home on July 11, 2000. She leaves her four loving children, Kathleen A. Stratton and George P. Green and his wife, Rebecca, all of West Springfield, Diane M. Kearney and her husband, Martin, of South Hadley, and Sally A. Cardetti and her husband, Edgardo, of Longwood, FL; her eight cherished grandchildren, Shelley Mutti and her husband, Anthony, Scott Stratton and his partner, Courtney, Melissa Green and her partner, John, Jason Kearney and his wife, Meghann, Ian Kearney and his wife, Erica, Michelle Kilponen and her partner, Colin, Alexander Cardetti and his partner, Andrea, and Angela Cardetti and her partner, Sergio; her ten cherished great-grandchildren; her two cherished great-great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Constance Holmes of Springfield; her dear sister-in-law, Wanda Green of Citrus Heights, CA; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her five dear brothers, Rene, Harold, Lester, Lionel, and Larry Godard and her dear sister, Eleanor Hamel. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. Her burial will be private at a later date at Saint Michael Cemetery in Springfield. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
